Position Title: Grants Manager
Employment Classification: Full-time Salary; Exempt
Reports to: Director of Foundations Relations
The Grants Manager of Orangewood Foundation reports to the Director of Foundation Relations, works closely with the CDO, Development team and Program Department to assist in grant research, proposal writing, reporting and stewardship of funders.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
o Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources.
o Support Director with funding research and evaluation of foundation and corporate prospects.
o Support Director with preparing submissions including working with finance and programs to gather information necessary for proposals.
o Maintain a base of funding relationships through Foundation giving.
o Solicit data and information from program and finance team to provide necessary reports and updates to all institutional funders.
o Develop a stewardship plan for all institutional funders including event invitations, touch-points and on-site tours and meetings with CEO, CDO and Program staff. May involve face-to-face meetings and networking.
o Maintain foundation donor files as well as Raisers Edge notes.
o Attend weekly department meetings, weekly 1:1 with supervisor, bi-weekly collaboration meeting with program staff and monthly Orangewood staff meetings.
o Accept responsibility for other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Requirements:
o Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
o 3-5+ years grant writing and non-profit organization experience.
o Competency in use of in-house software including Microsoft Office applications and Raisers Edge preferred.
o Excellent organizational skills and ability to work effectively in both team and self-directed situations.
o Ability to maintain positive personal relationships with a wide variety of individuals and in a range of demanding situations.
o Ability to respect the confidentiality of donor and client files.
o Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
o Possess a valid California driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.
o A working knowledge of Orangewood’s mission and programs is required, along with professional understanding of fundraising objectives.
o Understanding of and passion for the Foundation’s mission and vision.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
Primarily an office job. Occasional driving to meetings/trainings. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, typing, bending and potentially lifting up to approximately 25 lbs.
Modification to work schedule may be made based on need of the Foundation.
