The Old Globe is a renowned regional theatre located in San Diego’s beautiful Balboa Park. . With a budget of $29 million, the Tony Award-winning Old Globe is a recognized leader among American regional theatres. Known for producing a broad range of work from Shakespeare and the classical repertoire to world premiere musicals and plays, the Globe annually produces 15 productions on its three stages, plus a Globe for All touring program that performs in community venues throughout San Diego County.
The Old Globe seeks an experienced and inspiring development leader for Deputy Director of Development. Reporting to the Director of Development, the position will oversee development operations, institutional fundraising, and Globe Gala fund development, and serve as department lead in the director’s absence. We seek a motivated, positive, and mature individual with minimum four years experience in a complex and donor-centered development department, preferably in arts and culture. Successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in cultivating and soliciting major gifts, motivate others to do their best work, be gifted at analyzing processes and data, and enjoy working with donors of all giving levels. A creative thinker, the Deputy will be organized, calm, a self-starter, and an outstanding verbal and written communicator.
Knowledge of donor relationship software vital; experience with Tessitura a plus. Must be able to pass applicable background check. Must have valid driver’s license and access to vehicle for business use. Full-time position with benefits including 401(k).
